BETTA VASES

These sculptural vases are inspired by the flamboyant, vividly-colored tails of the Betta fish. The vases’ evocative forms, with bold curves and slices, are also strikingly feminine. Micòl shapes these vases by hand on the potter’s wheel from fine porcelain. The sliced geometry and edges are then meticulously crafted with hand tools.

SEASHELLS WALL SCULPTURES

For these sculptural wall-pieces, each tiny porcelain “shell” is hand-thrown on the pottery wheel. Natural instability that occurs as wet porcelain spins around the wheel bestows each with a unique form and character. Hundreds of these beautiful little shells are then assembled around a base to form the final piece.

LÍneas collection

“Líneas” is a series of decorative vases, trays, and tumblers featuring a striking black, white, and blue color scheme. Each piece is hand-thrown from fine porcelain. Blue underglaze is then applied to create a bold central figure, around which many fine lines are carved into the surface. The result is a collection of hyper-graphic, textured ceramic vessels.

CUSTOM PHOTOCERAMIC PIECES

Micòl began putting photographic images onto ceramics over a decade ago, in Spain. Now in Brooklyn, she has mastered the technique and uses it to create unique works of art that capture the urban scenery of New York. Each piece is custom-designed, using either the client’s images or, more often, photos Micòl takes around their neighborhood. We are happy to collaborate with any imagery for your project.

SCULPTURES

Micòl is a sculptor at heart! In recent years, she has focused on two sculpture projects in particular: “Faces,” a series of porcelain heads; and “El Mar Fantastico,” a series of abstract sculptures evoking colorful undersea life with striking golden accents.

The Málaga line of pitchers features bold, hand-painted black-and-white patterns on curvy forms. Matte exterior glaze makes for a smooth touch.
